This is a great book on dahlias, my favorite flower. SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY DAHLIA VARIETIES IT IS HARD TO GET THEM ALL IN ONE BOOK BUT THIS BOOK GIVES IT A GOOD SHOT.

The most favoured Dahlia in my garden is a collarette type called Dahlia ‘Pale Tiger’ – the butterflies flock to it in huge numbers jostling for places on the flowers. Dahlia ‘Black Monarch’ Ours died for unknown reasons – it just didn’t grow well from the start. Will try again next year as I have seen it at RHS Wisley and the flower is larger than ‘Black Jack’. Although for my money, ‘Black Jack’ is the blacker, more beautiful flower.
